Seven people were cited for drunken driving as part of a special operation early St. Patrick's Day.

Brown County OWI Task Force officers patrolled the village, which features a thriving bar district, from 11 p.m. Saturday to 4 a.m. Sunday. The seven citations matches the number reported after a deployment in De Pere on the holiday last year.

Since beginning in February 2011, that task force has issued 362 drunken-driving citations.

The next deployment is scheduled in April.
