John Schermetzler, in his 10th year of competing in the Green Bay Major, has been among the top three in average five times and probably will be there again this year. But one thing has eluded him - the individual average title.

Schermetzler again is in a battle for the top spot, sitting in second behind Jeff Lee.

The 42-year old Schermetzler and his friend Bob Leavy make the weekly 70-mile round trip to Willow Creek Lanes from Manitowoc to bowl in the Major because he likes the competition. ...
