A little boy is sad and mad when his pet mouse dies, so Dad helps him bury and commemorate his pet in a gentle manner, with conversational text easy for children to understand.

Working through the grief process by remembering his pet fondly helps the little boy come to terms with what it means that "Mousie won't be here ... I wish he would come back. But I don't think he will."
