Mishicot students head to Y for after-school activities

Lacey Tauschek, a third-grader at O.H. Schultz Elementary School in Mishicot, said she doesn't have a chance to go to the Manitowoc-Two Rivers Y very often. But for the last seven weeks, Lacey and two-dozen other Mishicot school students had the opportunity to visit the Y twice each week.

They were participating in the YMCA Gym & Swim Program, made possible by a $15,000 grant the school district received, according to Linda Schuette, physical education and health teacher at Mishicot Middle School and PEP grant manager for the school district.
