EDITOR: Judge John Yackel has been one of us in northern Wisconsin all of his life. He is a graduate of Marquette University Law School who also has many years of experience in all areas of the law.

Yackel also is very active in the community. He is a member of the rotary, Lions and Optimist clubs, a board member for Bell Tower Residence and a volunteer for various causes. These things are important, but they are not qualifications for a judge. I looked up a set of qualifications given to Moses, a couple of thousand years ago. Listed below:

? Wise and respected

? Listens to disputes, regardless of race and gender

? Does not show partiality

? Does not fear any man

Since October, Yackel has made decisions based on these qualities. This is why I support Judge John Yackel and I hope you join me in voting for him April 2.
