Wisconsin home sales, prices show healthy increase

Home sales and prices increased substantially in Wisconsin in February.

The Wisconsin Realtors Association said Monday that sales of existing homes grew by 11.7 percent and, more significantly, median sales prices were 6.1-percent higher at $122,000. Sales have increased by double digits for 20 consecutive months, but prices have lagged.

"The housing market has been on a strong growth path since the summer of 2011, and while the growth rate has moderated slightly, this is a very good trend moving into the spring selling season," said Renny Diedrich, Wisconsin Realtors Association ...
