Winning Wisconsin campaigns cost more than national average

Thinking about a run for Congress? Well, it'll cost you - probably more than you make in a year - or even more than your home.

In fact, the average victorious House campaign was nearly 10 times the median cost of a home in Wisconsin. A successful Senate bid would set you back even further, costing nearly 62 times more than the median home price, according to MapLight, a nonprofit organization that studies campaign finance.
