Stratford woman charged with lying about children's symptoms

A 32-year-old Stratford woman authorities say made up symptoms to get unnecessary medical treatment for two children made her initial appearance Monday in Wood County Circuit Court.

Susan C. Moore is charged with two counts of being a party to the crime of child abuse and one count of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud. If convicted, she faces a maximum of 18 years in prison.

According to the criminal complaint, in January, Moore called for an ambulance for a 2-year-old child she said was having a seizure. The ambulance took the child to Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. ...
