10 YEARS AGO: A ballroom dance will be held at Belvedere Supper Club. The event is open to all interested dancers.

The Marshfield Family Resource Center will host First Aid and Rescue Breathing in the council chambers at City Hall Plaza. Registration is required.

25 YEARS AGO: Jeff Wilke made local bowling history in league action. He bowled a perfect 300 game and holds the honor of being the first left-handed bowler to hit perfection in the history of the Marshfield Bowling Association.

50 YEARS AGO: In a Marawood grade school basketball league playoff, Stratford defeated Spencer 35-24. Stratford's high scorers were Bob Thorp with 11 points; Mort Toelle, 8 points; and Allan Ehrike, 8 points, but Spencer's Holtman was highest with a total of 14 points.

75 YEARS AGO: Marshfield's first woman candidate for mayor was announced. Barbara Caple obtained nomination papers at the city clerk's office and announced that she would seek election.
