One thousand miles. That's how far some studies say the average food product travels from the farm to your table.

Some Auburndale students are trying to shorten that distance. It's called the Farm to School program, and it has students learning about healthy eating by growing their own food, that heads straight to the cafeteria.

The initiative was part of the grant from Get Active Wood County that helped schools focus on improving the overall health and wellness of students and staff members. ...
