Movement expected on final phase of Miles Kimball redevelopment project

Five years and a recession later, a private developer's plan to convert the Miles Kimball Co. building into apartments will move forward this year.

Burns Development owner Brian Burns purchased the 113-year-old building at 851 S. Main St. from the Oshkosh Redevelopment Authority for $1 on Aug. 12, 2011, and secured a permit to rebuild the roof last November.

He said work on the roof was halted by early snow, but plans to convert the building to three floors of apartments and first floor commercial will resume this spring. ...
