Last year was a good year for renewable energy. In Germany, on May 25, nearly 30 percent of their electricity was being supplied by wind and solar power, according to Discover magazine. Also, in the fall, Karen and my electric bill was less than zero for three straight months. These events show that if a country tries, it can really cut its fossil fuel use and the pollution it emits.
The second example shows that people don't have to wait for their government to make a difference. We can do it on our own. So people, give solar or wind power and tankless water heaters a look. Or give something to your utility's green power program. We can make a difference.
