Seems like the Southern Door High School softball team merely has to step back onto the field to contend not just for a Packerland Conference championship but also a lengthy postseason run.
After all, the Eagles return all but two players from the team that finished second in the Packerland last year with a 12-2 record - one game behind Algoma - advanced to sectionals and finished 20-3 overall.
But the two graduated Eagles are major losses - pitcher McKayla Dantoin and shortstop Amy Englebert, who were both first-team all-conference players - and coach Pat Delcore admitted those are big shoes ...
