Clippers ready to hit outdoors - in Florida

Sturgeon Bay is getting a jump start on the high school softball season.

The Clippers are heading to sunny Florida during spring break for a much-needed reprieve from the persistent winter weather that has forced teams indoors since practice began last Monday. The team, which leaves Friday and returns March 29, will practice daily outdoors, scrimmage a traveling club team from the Tampa area and play a nonconference game against Lakewood Ranch High School near Orlando.
