Donald Driver will get his place in history in downtown Green Bay.

The Green Bay City Council gave final approval Tuesday to renaming a downtown street after the former Green Bay Packers wide receiver.

The council vote was unanimous to rename Pearl Street as "Donald Driver Way" north of Dousman Street alongside Titletown Brewing Co.

Titletown Brewing, 200 Dousman St., also plans to transform its outdoor Packers receiver statue into a likeness of Driver, who retired this year after 14 seasons with the Packers.

A public unveiling of the statue and street name is planned for this summer.
