Mastermind of burglary spree last summer convicted

The alleged organizer of nearly two dozen burglaries in Oconto, Brown, Marinette and Outagamie counties last summer has been convicted after entering pleas in Oconto County Circuit Court.

John C. Birk, 47, of Green Bay, will be sentenced on four counts of burglary-party to a crime on May 30.

Under a "global" plea agreement with a special prosecutor from the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Birk's pleas resolve the cases against him in all four counties. ...
