Experts, officials say there still is room for improvement

Wood County, along with Marathon and Taylor counties, are among the top third of the state's healthiest, but local health professionals said they will continue working to provide preventative health care, reduce obesity and make it easier for residents to make healthy choices.

For the second year in a row, Wood County is the 22nd healthiest of Wisconsin's 72 counties, according to the 2013 County Health Rankings released Wednesday by the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
