For the April election for city attorney we should not discount experience. Louis Molepske has had extensive experience as our city attorney. He has appeared and represented Stevens Point before the State Supreme Court, the Court of Appeals, both federal district courts in our state, and before Circuit Courts in at least 20 counties in addition to Portage County, even representing us before the U.S. Bankruptcy Court.

He has tried hundreds and hundreds of cases during his time as city attorney, many have been jury trials. In these court cases and relative to giving advice, generally he has covered the gamut of just about any kind of matter that could involve a city from annexation to zoning. In addition he has appeared and given advice at thousands of council, committee and commission hearings and meetings, and advised the city personnel, the mayor and council members on a day-to-day basis.

Louie is the kind of city attorney who can recite by memory almost every statute section and subsection under cities in the Wisconsin Statutes. You can't replace that kind of experience without a lot of lost time and expense to the city.
