Algoma's girls basketball team capped off an amazing season with a 46-30 victory over Colfax for the WIAA's Division 4 state championship. The girls left the Resch Center in Ashwaubenon on March 16 with their school's first state team title in any sport since 1986.

Algoma defeated Colfax with a steady and unwavering approach. The first half was a back-and-forth battle, but in the second half Colfax struggled and Algoma didn't. For most of the second half the Wolves had a commanding lead.

It was appropriate that Taylor Schmidt, Algoma's senior star, scored the team's final points of the season ...
