Leaders in the village have begun a plan to revitalize the Highway 29-Grand Avenue interchange area, but they haven't forgotten about the area's historic neighbor, Pavilion Park.

"The park is a gem down there," said Village President George Peterson. "A community cannot manufacture lake frontage. If you have it, you should promote it so its utilized in a manner that doesn't detract from natural beauty that's there."

Committee members want to groom Pavilion Park as a hot spot for weddings, family gatherings and water sports. ...
