Softball preview: New coach loves Pioneers' attitude

New Sevastopol High School softball coach Arnie Neubauer is a firm believer that hard work pays off.

"Nobody can stop you with hard work and dedication," he said. "That's what I've been preaching in practice, and the kids have responded. They're a hard-working bunch of girls. They're always asking: 'What can I do to get better?' I love the attitude, and it's fun to see that right away."

Neubauer inherits a team that has an unusual mix of players, led by a group of four experienced seniors and one junior, and rounded out with five inexperienced freshmen. ...
