Green Bay Mayor Jim Schmitt is looking for a dozen good pit masters to enter the second annual Bay Beach BBQ Bash that will be held 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 1.

The pulled pork and brisket competition will be critiqued by celebrity judges on taste, texture and appearance. Prizes are awarded for 1st place and runner-up in both divisions and cash prizes will also be awarded to Overall People's Choice and Most Creative Display.

In addition to the competition and food there will also be entertainment including music by Zoomie and the Dynamics. Contests and activities are planned for kids in the Pig Pen Corner. Prizes will be given for various contests such as the best pig call.

The BBQ Pork and Brisket Competition is limited to the first 12 entrants. Deadline to sign up is May 24. All vendors and competitors must hold proper permits. Teams can register at greenbaywi.gov/parks/ or by calling (920) 448-3365.
