Pottery is another of those arts our lives would be very different without. Pottery vaguely applies to any type of vessel or creation made from a clay mixture of one type or another, but the potter's wheel, and what we tend to think of first when we think of pottery, was invented in Mesopotamia between 6,000 and 4,000 B.C.

Pottery also stretches from one side of the globe to the other, and has always been a hinge pin for archeologists in identifying ancient cultures.
