When attended UW-Fox Valley: Fall 2011 to present

Background before UWFox: I was home-schooled, and graduated from high school in 2011. During high school I participated in a nationwide speech and debate league, the National Christian Forensics and Communication Association, and traveled to several states to compete against other home-schoolers at the state and regional level.

Why did you choose UWFox? I chose to attend UWFox because it was affordable and close to home.

Have you chosen a major? Currently, I am majoring in political science. After I complete my coursework at UWFox and transfer to a four-year campus, I'll declare a second major in philosophy.

What are you learning that you find interesting and rewarding at UWFox? I especially appreciate the political science and philosophy courses at UWFox. In both areas of study, the information is thought provoking and the faculty is inspiring. Outside of classes I've become very involved with our student government and enjoy representing student interests as the communication director and acting president of the student association.

What are your career plans after UWFox? After I complete my undergraduate studies, I'll move on to graduate school in order to earn my doctorate in philosophy and become a professor of philosophy.

Other interesting things about yourself that you'd like to share? When I was a junior in high school, my family co-founded a local NCFCA-style forensic club called Fox Valley T.A.L.K. Since then our club has grown to become one of the largest speech and debate clubs for home-schooled competitors in Wisconsin. As an alumna of that program, I've been able to maintain a connection to this community by coaching debate theory and technique to home-schooled students.
