A North Fond du Lac resident that has lived nearly 40 years on a channel to Lake Winnebago says it is nearly impossible to get a canoe on the water.

Dixie Borchert and her husband were among the 70 people that turned out Monday at UW-Fond du Lac to provide input about the region's natural resources dubbed the "Winnebago Waterways." The Waterways include the Wolf and Fox rivers and lakes of Winnebago, Winneconne, Poygan and Butte des Morts.
