Outagamie County supervisors cited concerns over governance and potential conflicts of interest in voting down $150,000 in funding to a recently created economic development organization.

The Outagamie County Board turned down the Appleton Regional Partnership Tuesday after more than an hour of debate. The organization, an arm of the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce & Industry, was created with goals of retaining Fox Valley businesses and better competing with other regions in attracting new jobs. Its funding has come from both the public sector and the business community.
