Vote to replace Pulaski pool

Seven days a week the Pulaski pool provides opportunities for everyone. Along with recreational activities for families and students, you may walk, exercise, and swim to maintain good health. Adults utilize Early Bird, noon hour swim times, and attend various exercise classes. The water allows people to exercise who cannot run or walk on hard surfaces due to health conditions. The pool has aided in rehabilitation, controlling arthritis and diabetes, stroke and heart conditions.

I have watched early childhood students who were fearful of getting in the water in September, now freely play and swim in the water. Elementary students make similar progress as their classes come for swimming lessons or basic water safety-rescue training. The summer swimming lesson program serves unbelievable/endless numbers of children - lifelong skills.

The present pool has served our community well. Maintenance is ongoing, yet the time is coming when the pool will not be able to be repaired due to the deterioration of the piping that is located in concrete. Now is the time to replace it. The Pulaski Community Pool is an asset I do not want the Pulaski area to lose. Vote "yes" on Question No. 4 on the referendum.
