Oconto Falls man charged in 1998 murder

Fifteen years have passed since Chad McLean's body was found in the Pensaukee River in Oconto County.

Investigators working on the case hadn't had much luck. However, in the past three years, witnesses and neighbors began coming forward with information about Peter J. Hanson, who admitted to spending time with 19-year-old McLean the night he was last seen on Feb. 22, 1998. McLean's body was found a month later in about 3 feet of water near a bridge on Sandalwood Road near Abrams.

Key witness testimony about the case came last year during a John Doe hearing involving Hanson in Oconto County. ...
