When Marquette's Trent Lockett lines up for the opening tip in tonight Sweet 16 matchup between the Golden Eagles and Miami, he just might be tempted to take a peak at the Hurricanes bench, and give a wink or smile.

Sitting there with at least a glimmer of pride will be Hurricanes' assistant coach Eric Konkol, who served as an assistant coach at Hopkins High in the Twin Cities when Lockett was a sophomore at the school.

Working in the empty gym on the fundamentals before and after practice, neither one of them probably could have imagined their paths would cross again with the eyes of the college ...
