10 YEARS AGO: Marshfield News-Herald publisher Helen Jungwirth has been given an additional role as publisher of the Daily Tribune in Wisconsin Rapids. She will continue as publisher of the News-Herald also.

Five will compete for three spots on the Village Board in Stratford. They are incumbents Dale Heiul, Bud Suckow and Pam Warash, and Debbie Schoenfuss and Wesley Manecke.

25 YEARS AGO: Marshfield received about an inch of rain during the area's first storm of the year. Temperatures rose to 48 degrees Thursday, with the overnight low at 36.

50 YEARS AGO: Foreign graduate students at the University of Wisconsin-Marshfield over the weekend were guests of the Rotary Club. The students gave brief talks on their homelands at the dinner in the Hotel Charles Saturday evening.

75 YEARS AGO: Twelve members of the Marshfield High School basketball team were awarded letters. Thirteen members of the Hockey Squad were awarded minor letters, both being given at a special assembly held in the school auditorium.
