Residents authorize Algoma Town Board to negotiate land purchase

The Town of Algoma is one step closer to solving some of its storm water management problems.

Residents approved the town board's request to go into closed session at Tuesday evening's special town meeting of electors to begin negotiations to purchase land for the construction of a regional storm water detention basin east of the Olde Apple Acres subdivision.

About 20 town residents were in attendance, and none opposed the decision to authorize the board to begin the purchasing process. About 4.7 acres of farmland will need to be purchased for the project. ...
