Assumption High School choir students performed exquisitely at their District Solo and Ensemble Festival, said the school's principal, Martin Gibbons.

The contest was held Feb. 15 at Columbus High School, Marshfield.

"We have many event qualify for state and many perform at disttrict," said Julie Stoffel, choral director at the high school.

Twenty-six of the events will advance to State Solo and Ensemble Festival, set for 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 4 at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

Eleven of the students had perfect scores, with three students receiving more than one perfect score in two events.

These exceptional students include Alex Ashbeck, junior; Crystal Bredda, senior; and Elaina Stoffel, sophomore.

"These three represent Assumption's most recent finest academic achievers," Gibbons wrote.
