Norberg to chair SCORE chapter

Central Wisconsin SCORE Chapter 535 recently elected Nate Norberg as chapter chairman.

Norberg previously was a member of the local SCORE Chapter for 12 years and is well known in the area having served as City Council member and mayor of Marshfield and as a member of several city committees. The Central Wisconsin SCORE Chapter includes the area of Wood, Portage, Adams, Clark and Taylor counties with 24 business counselors. As a resource partner with the U.S. Small Business Administration, SCORE operates with the SBA to provide business owners with information including counsel on financing options, business planning, marketing strategies, product development and more.

SCORE stands for Service Corps of Retired Executives and is a free service offered in 389 locations across the country. The local chapter conducts business seminars, workshops as well as face-to-face and online counseling at the local MACCI office.

CPA receives advancement

Matt Eckelberg, CPA, was recently selected to be partner-in-charge of the Marshfield office at Hawkins, Ash, Baptie. Eckelberg has been a partner at the firm since 2011.

Eckelberg joined Hawkins, Ash, Baptie in 1997, as an intern, and advanced his career to partner. He has thorough experience in audit and tax services to commercial entities, individuals and profit sharing 401(k) plans. He has served as a member of the firm's Tax Committee and the Employee Benefit Plan Service Group. In the community, he is a member of the Marshfield Noon Rotary.

Heinkel named station manager

Veteran broadcaster Brad Heinkel has been named station manager at WAOW Television, the local ABC affiliate in Wausau. Heinkel returns to WAOW after serving as general sales manager at WSAW since July 2010.

Heinkel previously worked in sales management at WAOW from 1996 through 2004. He brings a deep knowledge of the Wausau market and close ties with the local communities. Heinkel will begin his new duties at WAOW on April 2.
