Cover crops field day planned

There will be a cover crop field day from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. April 16 at the Brad and Pam Wolf family farm, N16739 Hiline Ave., Dorchester. The farm is just north of Highway A in the village of Dorchester.

The Wolfs are in the process of changing their tillage management from conventional till to a reduced or no-till method. In addition, they are incorporating cover crops as a part of their crop management.

Richard Halopka, Clark County crops and soils agent, will present information on the goals of using cover crops in a crop management system and improving soil health. ...
