If you're looking for a school board with divergent opinions and political viewpoints, you would stop at Merrill.

The nine-member board has developed a reputation for split votes, often 5-4, on hot-button issues, such as whether the district should provide sexual education and closing the Pine River Elementary School. The candidates running for Merrill School Board in Tuesday's general election say they can improve the School Board's working relationship.
