LaMont Jacobson named Marathon County judge

Assistant District Attorney LaMont Jacobson was appointed by Gov. Scott Walker on Thursday to serve as Marathon County Circuit Court judge.

Jacobson will fill the vacancy created when Judge Vincent Howard retired in February. A definite start date for Jacobson has not yet been determined, but Jacobson said he expected to take the bench in about a month. Jacobson said he will spend the next few weeks wrapping up or reassigning the cases he now is prosecuting in the district attorney's office.
