March milk prices expected to recede

MADISON - Wisconsin dairy producers are expected to receive an average of $19.40 per hundredweight for their milk in March, a 30-cent drop from February.

The March 2012 price was $17.70 per hundredweight.

The national March average is expected to be $19.10 per hundredweight, down 40 cents from the previous month, according to a monthly report from the Wisconsin field office of the National Agricultural Statistics Service.

Final numbers for March will be released at the end of April.
