An absolutely gorgeous Good Friday with sunshine and temperatures in the 40s produced an epidemic of spring fever around the county.

Those who took some time outdoors got in on the nicest day of the young year: warm sun, almost no wind and softening snow and ice. By the end of the day, rosy cheeks, noses and ears were common.

Some anglers continued to jig minnows or soak bait through the ice for walleyes, whitefish, pike and brown trout while others grabbed their favorite spinning rod and reel combo to cast off docks, piers and creek mouths from Sturgeon Bay on up the lake side of the Peninsula. ...
