Sound Celebration Women's Chorus presented annual awards on March 19, at its "Installation and Awards" ceremony.

Barbara Ybarra of Fond du Lac was named "Barbershopper of the Year." She was cited for her work as last year's show chairperson and for her exemplary recruitment activities. During her tenure as Membership Vice President, the chorus won a regional award for greatest percentage increase in membership. Since January, the chorus has accepted five women as new members.

Amy Huibregtse of Plymouth has won the distinction of being "Most improved Performer." Her nomination noted her proficiency as an emcee and in delivering song introductions and humorous dialogue. She was also commended for improvements in facial expression and visual presentation of song lyrics.

Member Sandy Lorenz was recognized with the "Rookie of the Year" award.s
