It was an EggStravaganZoo!: Kids and parents flocked to NEW Zoo Saturday for the 19th annual Easter egg hunt. No real eggs were harmed in this event.

One youngster, as he was running from one egg stash to another, called Saturday's N.E.W. Zoo EggStravaganZoo "the best Easter egg hunt ever!"

Certainly it was well attended. Just less than 5,000 parents and kids turned out for the 19th annual event. Though it was about 40 degrees cooler than last year, that hardly mattered to the thousands of youngsters who generated their own heat. An often-heard instruction on each of the zoo's paths was "don't run," usually in vain.
