Fruit Tree Grafting: 9 a.m.-noon April 13 at Ag & Extension Service Center, 1150 Bellevue St., Green Bay. Tony Dembski, owner of Maple Valley Orchards and Nursery, Gillett, provides a hands-on workshop on grafting, the art of attaching a piece of one plant (scion) to a rootstock to form a new plant identical to one scion was taken from. Ideal for duplicating that favorite apple or other fruit tree in your yard. Large variety of scion wood and rootstock to graft your own apple, pear or plum cultivars available for purchase. Cottonless Cottonwood Cuttings: Mark Sprague, a NEW Master Gardener Volunteer, will have cuttings of "Sir William'' and clone 252-4 cottonwoods (varieties that don't produce cotton and are resistant to problems associated with Eastern cottonwoods) available for sale in April.
