What started as a free dinner to thank customers for their support has turned into a 24-year tradition for a group of faithful volunteers, appreciative community members and employees at a west-side Wausau restaurant.

Wausau Mine Company restaurant's former owner, Ron Wage, began the free Easter dinner in 1990 when the restaurant celebrated its first 10 years of business. Wage sold the restaurant to his son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Stephanie Wage, and his daughter Jennifer Pauls, who on Sunday afternoon hosted the 24th annual free dinner.
