April 1, 1940 - 159 visitors see exhibit: A total of 159 visitors attended the opening of the Darrell Ellsworth Brown exhibition of oil paintings, watercolors, and charcoal drawings at the Neville Public Museum Sunday afternoon. Miss Agnes Wainwright conducted a short gallery tour beginning at 3 o'clock, and pointed out many interesting things to look for in the pictures.
Special interest was focused on the "Portrait of a Man" which will be taken from the show and sent to New York by April 18 for exhibition in the National Academy exhibition.
Following Miss Wainwright's talk, coffee and tea were served with Mrs. R.L. McDonald and Mrs. A.O. Christopher at the tea table. Mrs. Christopher is the artist's aunt and is from Menasha. Spring flowers in dainty colors were used on the tea table and on a center table. Old museum silver tea and coffee services were used.
