The University of Wisconsin-Fond du Lac Continuing Education Department summer class catalog is now available. Summer 2013 continuing education offerings include:
? Spring gymnastics for infants and toddlers and ages 7-12 meets five Saturdays, Apr. 6 to May 4.
? Tee-ball is offered for pre-K and Kindergarteners on Monday evenings during July and August; Grades 1 and 2 meet on Mondays and Wednesdays.
? New this summer is softball for Grades 3-4, on Mondays and Wednesdays, July 8-Aug. 7.
? College for Kids will run July 22-25 for children entering Grades 5-8. The fee is $129 through May 1 or $139 as of May 2. The Fond du Lac School District is offering a scholarship estimated to be $35-$45 for both private and public school students attending College for Kids at UW-Fond du Lac. Those students receiving free school lunch may qualify for additional scholarship funds.
? Another youth summer enrichment program, LEAPS!, will run July 29-Aug. 1 for children entering Grades 2-4. The fee is $79.
? The Milwaukee Food Tour in the Historic Third Ward is set for Thursday, June 13. The cost for the full day is $89 and includes bus transportation, gratuity, guided tour and ethnic foods.
? The Pharmacy Technician Program offered July 24-Aug. 12 is a comprehensive 50 hour program which will prepare students to work as a pharmacy technician in retail or other pharmacy setting. This course will prepare the student to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board's PTCB exam. The fee is $999 and includes all textbooks.
? The BIO 298 Special Topics in Biology: Florida Keys three credit course returns this summer with travel in July or August. An information session for students and parents is set for 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Apr. 24, in Room A211 in the UW-Fond du Lac Art Building. At the information session, complete details will be available and those attending will meet the instructor leading the trip, Trish Strohfeldt.
? A CNA three credit prep course, Introduction to Patient Care, will be offered May 28-June 7 on Monday, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 8:30 a.m. -5 p.m. The clinicals will be June 10-21 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The fee is $1,319.67 for credit. The course can also be taken without credit for $900.
