Hands Around the Courthouse event draws attention to child abuse prevention

The goal Monday afternoon was to encircle the Manitowoc County Courthouse with a human chain linked together by a common purpose.

"Today is a chance to raise awareness ... and to show we can come together as a community to support child abuse and neglect prevention," said Ashley Bender, team leader for the Child Abuse Prevention Task Force of Manitowoc County, which sponsored its first-ever Hands Around the Courthouse community walk.
