Fire damages pub in downtown Stevens Point (with video)

STEVENS POINT- The cause of a fire at a downtown business Monday evening that shut down Main Street for about two hours is unknown.

After a call came in reporting a fire at about 6:25 p.m., the Stevens Point Fire Department arrived at Heritage Pub, 929 Main St. Assistant Chief Bob Finn said they first observed smoke, then fire on the outside of the building.

Finn said firefighters put out the blaze and then inspected the basement of the building. He said there was some minor fire and water damage, and that a section of the floor of the business had to be cut out to ensure the fire hadn't spread. Fire ...
