Kaiser Pool first city-owned facility set for facelift

Under a panel-approved plan, Kaiser Pool would be the first of Wausau's aquatic facilities to get a roughly $2.5 million makeover, including new locker rooms, snack bar, shaded areas and slides.

The city's Park and Recreation Committee approved a measure Monday to launch an overhaul of the city's three pools, starting with Kaiser Pool in 2014.

If the Wausau City Council approves funds for the project in next year's budget, Kaiser Pool would be the first to be closed for reconstruction next year. Residents still would be able to access Memorial Pool on the east side and Schulenburg Pool on the ...
