Readers enjoy the par 3 course at Memorial Park in Wausau. Players can use the course in any direction. It is 9 holes. The Wausau and Marathon County Parks Recreation and Forestry Department upgraded the tee boxes there several years ago. Readers also like to play disc golf at Yulga in Portage County, Lake Wazeecha and Yellow Banks, which is a challenging 9-hole course. Yellow Banks in Weston will expand in the future to 18 holes. Mosinee’s Big Eau Pleine County Park disc golf, established in 2007, offers 18 holes, moderate elevation, some blind holes and great balance. Play a round and then, use the nature trails for a full afternoon of recreation.

On playing disc golf at Big Eau Pleine..

“It’s designed much like a regular golf course and offers tournament-level style disc golf,”

Wausau Area Disc Golf Enthusiasts help prepare the area for play and have helped to upgrade the tee pads. There are about two leagues that play the course weekly. The only drawback is that people tend to lose discs in the rough.
