Local students win Kohl scholarships

A number of local students and teachers have been announced as winners of Herb Kohl Foundation awards for 2013.

Student scholarship winners include DeAnn Robertson, Green Bay Preble High School; Lauren Sipple, Denmark High School; Jordan Stiede, Pulaski High School; Elizabeth Donart, Oconto Falls High School; Jennifer Spang, Oconto Falls High School.

Fellowship recipients include teachers Jason Krings, Green Bay Southwest High School; Catherine Stenzel, West De Pere's Westwood Elementary School; Leah Vandenbush, Green Bay's Danz Elementary School.

The $1,000 awards are being made to 100 teachers, their schools, and 187 graduating high school students throughout Wisconsin. Recipients will receive their awards in upcoming luncheons.

The scholarship and fellowship foundation was established by former U.S. Sen. Herb Kohl in 1990.
