Spots are still available for the April 27 carry concealed weapon class hosted by the Portage County Sheriff's Office.

The class will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Portage County Law Enforcement shooting range. Cost is $40 per students.

The class is taught by Sheriff's deputies who are certified Department of Justice firearms instructors. This class is the actual Department of Justice CCW class developed for the CCW permit application. Students will be allowed to shoot their firearms with instructors.

For more information and to register, call the Sheriff's Office at 715-346-1443.
